Unfortunately, the whole phoney field of “Ufology” is so littered with crackpots churning out obviously fake photos and videos that it’s impossible to tell what’s real. It makes me question the validity of every single UFO report ever made. And I’ve actually seen one.

And Ive actually seen one.I did also, from a back yard in Green Valley, Az. It was a particularly festive sphere, multicolored and rotating. Watched it through binoculars at a good distance to the southwest for a half hour to the accompaniment of multiple jet flights overhead. Don't know what it was, but a craft from another part of the galaxy wouldn't be my first guess.

So have I. When I was a teenager, I happened to see something in the air that did not look 'right', and as luck would have it, I had within reach a cheap plastic camera (the kind that used to take 127 size black and white film), and I managed to snag 3 pictures while furiously turning the film advance knob, and this is what I saw in 1968:
Now I don't care if anyone wants to p*ss all over this, because I know what I saw, I took the pics, and I've never seen anything like it before or since. The object moved at a speed far beyond jet aircraft, and being in Montgomery County Maryland at the time, I was no stranger to seeing a lot of jet traffic both civilian and military flying overhead. Anyway, that's my story and I'm still sticking to it 42 years later.
SJB? Thought you might get a kick out of this.

Interestingly enough, I have also seen a UFO and I feel exactly as you do. The very subject of UFO's draws frauds, attention whores and the mentally ill the way the flame of a candle draws moths. I feel there is something going on but I refuse to speculate beyond that point.
I was at a private dinner several years ago with a very famous and high-level member of a recent administration and had a private conversation with this person. I asked him two questions, the second of which was "do UFO's exist?" He replied that (and I paraphrase) "...there are things that are seen in the sky that are unidentified and so....". I could see where this was going so I then interrupted and rephrased the question, asking him if there was evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence. He then stated with "well, there are many definitions of intelligence....". So, basically, he evaded the question. I shared the highlights of this conversation later with a family member who was present and they replied "you got your answer".

What did yours look like?
I saw one hovering over a pasture in northern Vermont - about 15 miles from the Canadian border - in either 1966 or 67. Summertime, dusk but not quite full night time. Quite low, I was sober, a teenager, had no thoughts or beliefs about UFOs. It was very large (or very close), round saucer shaped, had various colored lights all around the edge. Totally silent. I watched it for a while by the fence and then it zoomed away so quickly I could barely see it in a very short time.
Right around that time I also had another very interesting experience.
