Totally agree. The east coast of Florida has had tar balls forever. This is normal. Like you said - Oil rigs would probably reduce the amount of tarballs.

If the people in Destin and other areas are concerned then call the city or the county. They can get convicts out there with rakes or students on the weekend or retirees.

People - If you want to change something cancel your sat or cable TV service and stop supporting the 5 TV networks that own 95% of the channels as they ALL ALL support Obama.

That is is way of communicating with others. You get used to it. :)

You are correct. I’ve never seen such a jaw-dropping posting history. In its own way, it’s really something.

“I am just up the coast from you and we are getting a bit apprehensive. I envision a dearth of rentals and a new wave of condo foreclosures and fire-sales and a second half summer season at a lower level than the slowest month of the winter season.”

This entire stretch of coast would be a ghost town without those white sand beaches. It’s obviously not a big deal for some people, but for those of us who live here, who own property here, or who rely on the tourism the beaches bring, it’s an economic disaster. If the oil continues to pile up on the beaches, I can see my property value going into the gutter.

I get a giggle out of dalereed's posts.

Kind of like FR's resident curmudgeon. ;-)

Dale,
Here's a word that would be a good one to study:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/tact

We are all aware that oil seeps naturally, in some places.

But sometimes things happen that are just not good.

Are you in favor of oil washing up all over the Gulf Coast, and affecting thousands who earn a living there?

I take it you’re not a beach fan, go to the South for any reason, enjoy paying for others’ benefits...as they’re going to need massive money that’ll come from increased taxes, debt, interest and costs we’ll pay—and, you hate seafood.

Being mean does nothing here. Go away.

Oh, and I meant that for dalereed. Blood was shooting out of my eyes at his posts. Mean-spiritedness on this forum is really, really petty and uncalled for.

Never mind.

He just wants attention and to take over a thread.

FR is full of crap like this lately. Like some adolescents on the loose being as outrageous as they dare.

I meant the post for dalereed. I was going to say something else, but I was just too disgusted.

One other time, on a thread about child abuse, I exchanged a couple of posts with someone that was absolutely the most revolting thing I have ever seen on FR. I refused to go back to that thread, but I did hear it was pulled a few days later.

This guy’s coming closer to that level of banality and reason to ignore him altogether from now on. People are generally too upset about things going on in this country to have to put up with that kind of purposeful cussedness.
