“Geez Rush ... just buy her a house now”

Hilarious! You remember that one!

Married men live on average several years longer than single men.

No, it just seems longer due to the misery.

When asked how long I was married to evilexwife I reply:

One Thousand Years.

His first wife obviously doesn’t talk to the press about him or we’d be hearing from her at least monthly for a while, second wife went with him to NYC when he started his national program, divorced him about two years later. So she might well have agreed to silence in exchange for a heftier settlement.

Of course I just thought of another possibility. If they are both remarried each may not want to disrupt her present marriage by talking about her prior one.

I do not wish to imply that Rush has something to hide, but you know the media sharks would love to have someone to say anything about his personal life that could be twisted by skillful editing into something negative. And people unskilled in media relations are sitting ducks for those types, as Rush would know.

I pray this one "takes"

If it doesn't it will make one heck of an ad for Legal Zoom. " I used their pre-nup and she got zip, nada, no Rush money."

But what happened with that cochlear implant thingee that he had done.

Rush made them put an on/off switch on it.

Rush actually made money on the ties, and (if I recall correctly) the “collection” pre-dated his marriage to Marta. On the other hand, her magazine and website were a financial black hole. No one has ever said how much money they lost, but I’m guessing somewhere in the low seven figures.

I will give Rush credit for one thing: his ex-wives have all-but-disappeared from view, and none have ever said anything negative about him publicly. I’m guessing that’s a stipulation in the divorce agreement they signed.

“Combat at least offered the opportunity for a quick death. Marriage just kills you a second at a time. How many seconds in thrity-three years? Too many.”

Married men live on average several years longer than single men.

Or maybe it just seems longer... (*smile*)

Ok, seriously...

Not all combat related injuries result in a quick death. But I do understand that such a thing being said is not really to be taken seriously when someone compares combat to marriage...

All kidding aside, being married to someone who really does care for your well-being and is willing to help you does count for a lot.

Maybe the marriage starts out with fireworks and at first the primary focus / bonding is through lots of physical intimacy / sexual activity, but assuming the relationship grows the right way you wind up with a life partner you can count on for assistance and to be there for you when you need help, even though the nature of the physical relationship may change over the years.

A co-worker sdescribed marriage - repeated from what his father told him, as "having someone at home who actually gives a d@mn if you come home every day". I guess that's one way to describe it.

I guess there is the risk of things going south, but in that case it's probably best to part company without a lot of drama before things get really nasty, and to be generous as you part ways, and don't ever talk bad about the other person.

That none of Rush's ex's are not out there bashing him (and you just know that they've been contacted with generous offers of money for their "stories"), says a lot about Rush being one heck of a quality individual.

Well, Marta must have been high maintenance and probably “needed” the “love” on air. She demanded birthday week celebration. I hope this one is deserving.

If I may, I would like to ask you a question: How did she go from the person you wanted to marry to being an evil person? And in what time frame?

If you care to answer... (I understand you may not wish to talk about it).

How did she go from the person you wanted to marry to being an evil person?

I rather think it was a result of being provided for and having kids.
Made her selfish and bossy and always right.

And in what time frame?

Seven years.

As an addendum, she got over being evil. We are good friends
now, have been for years. It's best for the kids that way.

I wish him every happiness. There is nothing to compare to a loving spouse.

You are so right...

God bless Rush and Kathryn.

Thank you for the response and the answers.

I am glad it turned out (in addendum) the way it did.

I think she got a reality check once she was single again. Decent men (can hold a job, not cat around, not spend all their money at the bar, not alcoholics, not drug abusers, not abusive) are hard to find.

And when there is one out there, he is going to have his own standards of what he is looking for (decent looking, not really overweight, no previous marriages or children).

Like I said, I really think she got a reality check.

All the best to you.

It’s a grainy photo, but she looks very pretty. Good for Rush! And he doesn’t look bad either!

I never took any of that seriously. I always considered it comedy in the same vein as how Walter Williams used to talk about his wife. I imagined Mrs. Williams sitting at home laughing her butt off at his comments.

I haven't listened to Rush's show lately, and I don't know if Dr. Williams still subs from time to time, but I'd read that his wife died, rather suddenly, and I'm sure it must be very sad for him, because, his gentle ribbing notwithstanding, it seemed he loved and respected her.

Here is a better look at Rush's beau -- she's a pretty woman, although does seem to be a tad older than 33 y/o...

Rush gay? I doubt it, maybe there is some confussion because it is Sir Elton John who will be singing at Rush’s wedding. I was surprised to hear that on Fox News this morning.

Wish Rush the best of luck. They look like a cute couple.
