Hi folks!

TC, tubebender made a post about hand pollinating corn at post #354, on this (last weeks) thread.

Kathy, I'm glad to hear your parents are still healthy. My Mom is doing well, (mid-80’s), but Dad passed away 31 years ago, and I miss him every day.

MC, in your climate I suspect you could do peas or spinach in the ex garlic plot?

AFTR, when will you replant it? Mid-Aug?

Tubebender, I don't know if this works, but I have read a few times that if you grind the offending bug in a blender with some water, and spray it on/near the plants, it deters that type of bug.

Most of my plants are doing well, but there was some black spots on the lower leaves of some of my tomato plants, so I cut those branches off.

Should I be hilling my carrots? I can see some of the growth below the green leaves poking above the soil.

I'll see you all on the new thread.

Happy Gardening!

I planted peas early and they are already coming up. Will see if I can do a late crop too. Was thinking of putting lettuce between alternate garlic rows, would still give me room for weeding. I think I may actually be in zone 3 from the temp ranges cited. The lowest temps are often -25F to -30F. Started many things in larger containers indoors to get size early before planting outdoors.
