I had a relative that tried to pull this garbage on crapbook last year.

He basically compared Al-Qaeda to the Skin heads and the KKK but used their more formal names.

I’m sorry, as much as I don’t like the KKK and the Skin heads I DO NOT see them fighting another country’s military with bazookas, suicide and road side bombs.

Here’s another point for you: I’ve never heard of KKK and skinheads killing people if they don’t join up and become white supremacists too.

That’s a bit of a stretch, don’t you think? What other countries military would the KKK be attacking? Beyond that, don’t terrorists almost by definition attack civilians, not military? That’s why they’re considered such a great evil - because they attack innocent, defenseless people in order to scare them into doing something or even just make a statement.

Attempts to redefine what terrorism is just brings us into strange territory where organizations like the IRA are considered legitimate groups, and bombings like Bloody Friday were just crimes, and not acts of terrorism - where men like Bill Ayers can walk around and not be thrown in a prison cell. Personally, I find it a bit sickening.
