Our female office manager used to hire assistants who, I could swear, were graded on how low they were on the 1-10 scale as well as below 100 on the Intelligence Quotient. Once I had the responsibility for hiring someone in my area, I hired the most intelligent and qualified person I could find. It didn't hurt that she was a real looker in her mid twenties with “naturals” that could rival Dolly Parton. I'm sure some had the impression that she was hired because of her body, but after they saw the type of work she produced, she convinced them otherwise.

Perhaps it was good that everyone had separate offices or we could have spent the entire day staring at her.

For my first real job out of college, the hiring director (a 45 year old guy) would only hire highly attractive women right out of school. He wouldn’t hire guys.

I was lucky because the guy was on vacation on the day of my interview so I was given my job offer by another manager, a woman.

On my first day of work, I found out there were 18 hot women and only 2 guys (including me) that were hired as recent college grads.

Not a bad workplace environment.

The girls weren’t the smartest or hardest-working people I ever met, but that wasn’t a major problem.
