I have three sisters, and all of them are nutty liberals. And they all have a lot more money than me (we all started out extremely lower middle class i.e. poor), two of them having total worth of over a million bucks. And they're all abysmally ignorant of current events, political personalities, and history. But we're still on good terms.

I need to vent. Many years ago I realized that my sister was an intellectually limited, union-loving, left-wing, pacifist, political hack and that I should never ever again discuss politics with her. I haven’t, but I’ve stayed respectful because she does some very good and noble things in her career.
However, she has allowed her political distain for me to color her entire impression of me. Most recently, this spilled over into her sense that I wasn’t doing enough to help our near-death mother and ailing father. She took a nasty verbal shot at me and I responded with both barrels.
I’ve figured out that as a blind leftist, she’s simply unable to respect or emphatise with anyone who doesn’t agree with her about everything or who won’t do exactly what she tells them to do. End of vent, thanks.
