Bed bugs are the least of our worries. One of the upscale conmunites near here has a case of TB. We’ve seen reports of a possible polio resurgence.
People sneaking into the US from impoverished country often bring diseases with them that we had eradicated.
Another reason to buy an RV and avoid hotels...
If you heat up the inside of your residence to 120 degrees F for an hour that’ll get rid of ‘em!

Since they are attracted by heat and CO2, I don’t see why a trap can’t be invented. Also, I’ve read that they can live much longer than 2 months without a meal—some sources say up to a year. That is part of the problem in hotels: they leave a room empty to let the bugs die, but not long enough.
I won’t stay in hotels anymore because I can’t sleep thinking about them. I also heard they have been found in moving vans....ain’t diversity grand?
We think travel to and from the Third World bought them back to the US......”

My mom said that during the 30’s she observed the neighborhood ladies getting rid of bedbugs that had infested their house after my grandmother gave shelter to a down on her luck young mother and her baby.
They drug the mattress’ outside in the sunshine and wiped them down really well with rags soaked in gasoline and then left them in the sunshine for hours. apparently that killed them!
Note to self: “along with the other dumb stuff you’ve clicked on over the years, never click on a thread with bed bugs in the title while eating breakfast........”
