Speaking as a non-woman, I don’t care for the thing between the toes on flip-flops. But sandals or bare feet? Whenever possible. When temperature allows, and their are no spinning blades or other hazards eminent, let those feet (and legs) free.

I personally dont like the rub between the toes on any shoe.
I have been wearing Birks (many styles with covered toes) for 25yrs due to work and my short ducky feet.
It is all personal taste IMO and where we live flip flops are very popular. Personally its to dang cold.
Heels/slippery bottoms/flip flops would or me be an accident waiting to happen in my daily life.
I bought a pair of LLBean rain/mud shoes (nice and wide) a few years ago and love them for anti back/feet pain but they would slip on dime spill of water....suppose all the traction is just for design.
