I agree. I don’t care for Baldwin as a person, but he is brilliant in his role and 100% believable.
Also love Community - something I normally watch is on at the same time so I watch on IControl, which is basically the saved programs.
I do love Manny, and love when Gloria is always saying she knows about crime or something because she is from Columbia. lol I do like Cameron too - he's so funny.
Jack Donaghy is not an idiot. On the contrary he is almost always right on the spot with useful advice to the frazzled Liz Lemon, who is a bundle of New York City middle-aged childless, relationship-less mess.
An episode early on best exemplifies the Jack Donaghy style. New to the management of Liz’s TV show he asks her to write some jokes for a speech he is giving. She assumes he needs it right away cause he’s in his office in a tuxedo.
When she finds out it isn’t an immediate need, she asks why he’s wearing a tux. He replies with the perfect amount of condescension:
“It’s after six. What am I, a farmer?”
Knowing his politics and things he has said in the past, the fact that he plays a conservative leaves me no doubt that he does it to belittle true conservaties. He may be spot on with the advice, but you can be assured the writers do not think that is the case.
It won't get to BarryO because Pinocchio and the Ballerina will assert executive privilege, but Sestak, His Brother and Bubbaloon will all be going under oath before a Congressional inquiry
Right now, we are not yet matching Cell phone records, or travel calendars, but that day is approaching.
He’s more of a character from the past (like the ideal corporate man from the 50s) than a modern conservative per se.
It’s just TV and I enjoy it.
I guess my feelings about tina fey and the fat ass baldwin just outweigh my ability to enjoy them in any form.
That’s how I felt the first couple of times I watched it, but there are several actors I appreciate on the screen, but not when they pontificate off of it. And some I just cannot stomach at all and can’t bring myself to watch, no matter what. Like Kathy Griffin, the redhead ‘comic’. Cannot stand her, even on Seinfeld. Zero talent, all obnox, all the time.
I totally agree about griffin. I know the lead on Community is a lib too, so I can stomach some of them, occasionally.
sounds fun, but i am not getting my hopes up.
You ever watch Joel McHale on “The Soup”? That’s one consistently funny snarky show. Fridays at ten on E!
The Soup kicks ass.Been watching since Greg Kinnear hosted.
I can’t go back that far, but have been watching it for years now. What’s amazing is that it’s a new show every week. I think he has off Christmas and New Year’s and that’s about it.
To have this show out there displaying just how absurd some of the TV today is, is a real treasure.
i can hear rolling thunder from my back deck : ) xsfrosh and i were at the safeway up the street shortly afyer 9 am and cops were blocking off lee hwy. the entrance to 66 is right there and sure enough there they came, 40 min worth of harleys roaring past. there were people lined up to wave and cheer and we joined them. its an impressive sight.
Yes, we love The Soup! I hate his snarky comments about Sarah and President Bush, but the show is very well written. I love that he makes fun of all the same shows I think are just pathetic.
Eh, the difference between a Hoover and a Harley is that with the Hoover the dirtbag is on the inside. LOL.
(That’ll get me killed in some bars, eh? Good thing I’m in Poza Rica, where my Spanglish continues to improve.)
Are all them guys going to a Memorial Day thing, I guess? It is impressive. No one will invade America as long as well have all the guns and the guys like that.
We sat through 40 minutes of passing harley’s in the groc store parking lot and those were only the ones getting on at our particular exit to 66. Tons of US flags and POW/MIA flags.
The neighbors have fireworks exploding outside. have i mentioned how i HATE fireworks?
