The 2000 calories doesn’t turn me off — but the PB does. I could go for one of the other ones, maybe.

McDonald's Triple Thick Chocolate Milkshake

Are they sure it was a milkshake at McDonald's and not an (unspecified chalky liquid)-shake?

Many years ago, I worked at a Summer retreat and ran the milk shake machine. The “Sealtest” ice cream man came by at the start to show me how to work the machine.

He told me a secret of how to make the best milkshake you ever tasted. He simply put a half gallon of ice milk mix into the machine instead of milk shake mix.

He said there were two reasons I could not make milkshakes for sale that way. First the state specified some ingredients which had to be in a milk shake and second, he said it was so rich it made a lot of people sick. Sure enough, maybe half an hour after eating that milkshake I began to feel just a bit nauseous. Never got really sick tho. I bet the calories were off the scale.

I’ve gotta get one of those! Does Cold Stone have a drive-thru window so no one sees me buying it?

You only live once ... I gotta try one of these, this weekend!

When I was about 35 years younger, I was doing physical farm labor in a rural area. I bought milk by the gallon from a local farmer. Unhomogenized, it had about a quart of cream floating on the top of the jar. I would make a shake using mostly cream, add an egg and some kind of fruit and stir it all up in a blender. Dang it was good!

However, I was young and working hard all the time. Now I make my smoothies using 2% milk, fruit, yogurt and yes, peanut butter.

That's my 'when you don't have time for breakfast' breakfast.
