Foyle’s war - excellent detective series in WW2 by the BBC
Poirot - Agatha Christie’s detective done with David Suchet
As Time Goes By - staring the most excellent Dame Judi Dench
and one of my favorites (but no one else in the house likes them) - “Last of the summer wine”

Foyle’s War series is great. Don’t like any of the others you mentioned. I’d rather see “Absolutely Fabulous” or “Red Dwarf” than the ones you posted, if we’re talking English stuff.

That has got to be one of the most painfully unfunny shows I've ever seen. Even my older parents couldn't stand it and they love British shows.

Well - as hard as this sounds - I havent found much good here in the U.SAgreed. Try "House of Cards" for political machination with Ian Richardson - post Maggie Thatcher and "The First Churchills" with John Neville and Susan Hampshire - 1600s England.
