"2,000 pounds"

Is this correct? It doesn't seem like much.

Anyone want to give me odds this project is supported by one, possible multiple, earmarks?

Getting commercial airship production up and running is expected to create hundreds of textile industry jobs in Alabama, according to a statement by E-Green Technologies. It might also lead to aerospace and aviation jobs in Central Florida and Northern California, where the company hopes to set up operational centers.

Textiles and Aerospace. QED.

If it has a crew of eight, it functionally has no payload. Heck, a Ford F-350 can carry 2,000 lbs.

2000 lbs of high-bandwidth link electronics over that much surface area at 80K ft is a money making proposition. Consider the size and cost of communications satellites, and how much they earn. A couple of hundred pounds of electronics way up high is a moneymaker.

I was going to say something sarcastic too, but if this thing can haul it up to 20,000 feet and hang around for days on end without much fuel, well, maybe there is a use for it.
