She could always get a job across the street at “Heffers”.
Personally I don’t think 5-8, 132 lbs is fat, but then I’ve never gone to Hooters, either.
Why does the American way now involve running to a lawyer to sue a business anytime your feelings are hurt?
Get a new job!
I imagine this ‘victim’ will go on to victimize anyone who does not appreciate just how precious she is through the use of lawyers... some day her husband, if she can find one stupid enough to sign the contract for her... will regret it.
I always picture a manatee with Hugh Hefner’s face
I am soo freaking over victim mentality! I can’t stand it anymore!
I don’t give a darn about their self esteem. I eat where I want. The waitstaff is there to serve me. If they want to debase themselves for my enjoyment then that’s a failing of their upbringing. I simply stated the truth that if they had any self esteem they wouldn’t be demeaning themselves for tips. hmmm.
WoW
Discussed on Red Eye including a video interview with the ex-Hooter waitress.

I used to exercise race horses, none of the riders were 64 200lbs. Is that weight and height discrimination?
<><><><><
So you are OK with employees being disciplined for non-performance related issues?
Your 6’4” 200 lb jockey won’t win races. The natural consequence of jockeys not winning races is they don’t get the job.
Is this young lady unable to serve customers due to her weight issue? Obviously not.
Well, her hooters are an issue so why isn’t the rest of her bod?
yes! i am in my mid 40's... i am thin--but not toned... doing that now, and it is painful!
I am totally fine with a private company firing someone for any reason.
They offered her a free gym membership, they have criteria, she could have chose to work out more and stay, instead she is all over the news talking about weight discrimination. I saw her on Fox News in an interview, she didn’t look all that on T.V. and quite frankly she does have a pooch!
And Hooters is known for hiring by looks! Hello? 2 girls apply both are 115 lbs. one is built like Olive Oyl the other like Pam Anderson, who do you think is going to get the job?
If she were really good her sales would show that. Nobody is entitled to a job. We don’t know she could have had an attitude to boot.
I have waited tables myself, I was taken off the floor the day I mentioned to my boss I was pregnant, I wasn’t even showing then. Granted he found another position for me but it was my choice to stay. I also took a pay cut because I became a hostess instead of a waitress where I could rake in tips.

So you would have been fine getting fired for mentioning that you were pregnant, instead of how it was handled?
Call me crazy, but I still think if someone gets fired, it should be performance based.
And you are right, this young lady did not get fired, she quit, so we are more discussing theory than this particular practice.
I'm 6'1", and my lightest adult weight was about 150 pounds. That's not fat either.
Hooters stupidly has a rigid weight limit which makes no sense at all. Are they really trying to have ONLY petite women work there? If so, that is truly disgusting, and I for one will boycott them forevermore.
“Is this young lady unable to serve customers due to her weight issue? Obviously not.”
While this girl looks fine to me, you are incorrect. A fat girl will serve less customers because there will be less customers. If a guy goes to a strip bar he is looking to fulfill a fantasy. Same is true at Hooters. If the girls don’t look good, guys won’t go. Then the other girls and the cooks lose their jobs. Guys may be scum, but capitalist will try and profit from it.
