The CDC tracks IV transmissions separately from heterosexual transmissions. The 175,000 heterosexual transmissions excludes IV drug users.

The CDC also admits that it has no accurate way of diagnosing how the person contracted AIDS and that self identification was inaccurate upon closer study.

AIDS would be FAR more widespread if it wasn't for the fact that it's transmitted only though the most unusual activities.

Considering the amount of money the Federal Government spends (thought to be about 2 billion a year) on this rare and highly avoidable disease, people should at least know that those infected with it are going out of their way to get it.
