The voice of Scar in the Lion King has spoken:
We must live more sustainably, he growls from Pride Rock as he probably doesnt call a single one of his seven homes, not even the pink castle in Co Cork, because in real life hes not a lion at all but a Sherborne-educated luvvie who takes himself very, very seriously called Jeremy Irons.
Increasing global population would put an intolerable strain on world resources, and the gulf between developing countries and westerners living a bountiful pie-in-the-sky existence must be addressed.
One always returns to the fact that there are just too many of us, the population continues to rise and its unsustainable, I think we have to find ways where were not having to scrap our effluent junk and are a really sustainable planet.
Natural systems of selfregulation may stop population growth, he said: I suspect therell be a very big outbreak of something because the world always takes care of itself.
The 61-year-old actor went on to speculate that either disease or war, probably disease, could become natures way of halving the population.
What is it about Greenies and their pervy yearning for the apocalypse which is going to teach us all a lesson for messing with mother Gaia? And what is it about people with seven homes? This is the same number as are currently owned by our terrifying new environment minister Chris Chicken Licken Huhne. Al Gore, the Prince of Wales and Zac Goldsmith have similar numbers, Im sure.

He is no different than Al Gore who flits around the world in a private jet, lives in a huge home, and moves on ground in large carbon spewing SUV’s and limo’s while demanding the rest of the world cut back use of energy. No different than President Obama who fires up Air Force One for a date night with Michelle in New York. No different than Nancy Pelosi who demands and gets private government jet service to whisk her to and fro.
Today’s celebrity and political elites live a lifestyle of luxury, decadence, and conspicuous consumption while demanding the rest of us conform to their dictates regarding behavior and resource consumption. They are no different than the European royalty of the 1700’s against whom our founding fathers rebelled over far less intrusion in their everyday lives than today’s ruling elites exert over our existence.
How about 0bama’s most recent White House blowout? The visiting president of Mexico was used as the excuse to spend millions on a lavish outdoor party. Beyonce was one of the entertainers
