PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - The Pacific Northwest must prepare for the worst grasshopper outbreak in 30 years, according to scientists for Washington State University and the USDA.

Researchers found a big increase in the number of grasshopper eggs last fall and said a relatively mild spring has set the stage for a major grasshopper infestation.

Last summer, grasshoppers wiped out 7,000 acres of grassland in the high desert of southeastern Oregon.

Grasshopper faeces sometimes reveal bovine dung, spider parts, pollen and egg fragments.

The Bible says they are “clean”.....I guess because they eat grass............

Ate 'em in survival school. Take the rear legs off, first. Pop 'em in. Tasted like peanuts.

I'm not following you, really. ;-)

Traditionally eaten with honey, but I found a little Tony
Chachery’s Creole seasoning makes them more tasty.

Tabasco may work - used to get little bottles of the stuff in certain MREs.

How does that work? The grasshoppers try to cross streams or land in the water and trout eat them? Sorry to sound dumb.
