Buddhists can be atheists because Buddhism is a philosophy not based on any interpretation of God. Buddha himself was just a teacher and demanded his followers not worship him when he died.

Buddhists ARE atheists.

When JPII said this in an interview, the press rushed to the Dalai Lama, hoping to start a catfight.

The Dalai Lama said, “The Pope is correct.”

Buddhists are atheists. There is only the great void--nothingness.

Actually, buddhists are technically atheists. By declaring that everything is god, they effectively negate the concept of god to a degree an atheist can only dream of.
