No, but the one across the street finally stopped barking after I trained it to shut up. My neighbor used to just let it bark.
Dobermanns?
They are scary but not evil. Would not want to mess with two of them.
German Shepherds
Definately not evil. Would not want to mess with two of them.
If not, why not?
Because they are not pit bulls.
And that's exactly what I expected.
Can you guess what the other 3 breeds have in common?
At various times in the past, ALL of them were the subjects of the exact same kind of “breed hysteria”.
Luckily, PETA had no political power during *those* “burning times” therefore reputable breeders had a chance to tone down some of the breeds’ original “sharpness”.
Because the anti-dog lobbies now wield immeasurable political/media power, “pit types” will probably not get the same the grace period.
I got my first Dobermann in the 70s, when I was 14.
I went through the whole “Dober-witch trials” era, replete with “killer Dobe” B movies.
We're still here.
My current one is a European line-bred because I really didn't want to “settle” for a diluted “American type” again.
FYI, if I -had- to make a choice when being attacked by a dog, I would definitely pick the Pit over the Dobe....even if it were only *one* Dobe.
Most "killer Pit" stories involve little kids or the elderly because they're more "helpless".
Dobes have no problems taking out full grown adults.
[Luckily, they're not EVIL so they're not prone to doing so. In fact, for reasons unknown, the family Dobe will usually appoint itself the official guardian of any kids in the home]
Bump!
