I just encountered this when seeking some information via Scroogle.

We'll know in a week or so whether or not we lose another chunk of what makes the Internet, and it's users, special.

Any idea where else we can go to preserve privacy in searches?

I just went to do a search on scroogle and found that same message.

If you use Firefox, you can install the GoogleSharing Add-on.

This will essentially do what you are looking for.
