To: who knows what evil?

To ignore Ms. Horne’s race is to be less than honest. The truth is she performed in places that she was not allowed to patronize. She was often cut out of movies shown in the South. She broke the barriers of race that the time frame put on all blacks at the time. It is not the race card its the truth.

I am quite clear on Lena’s history; having been a great admirer of hers when I was younger, but this is so typical of the PC media to play the card before her talents; which should never be forgotten...she overcame. She was amazing.

That's pretty much true, she was really fabulous though and those of us who grew up watching her pictures grew up not knowing about he divide which helped to lead to colorblindness. She accomplished far more than just astounding singing.

I just hope that today, where ever she is, she looks back and realizes what a gift she gave to us.

You are right. I read about her being cut out of movies in the south years ago,etc... I always admired her as a stunningly beautiful woman with amazing talent who persevered. It’s funny, I was thinking about her just the other day, wondering if she was still alive....
