Read my posts, skim them, and you’ll see I am generally praising the ipad. I even used one in Best Buy for 15 minutes. I figured it out in 5 minutes even though I have never laid a finger on any iphone touch screen which I assume the ipad generally copies. If someone gave me one and a free two year data plan I would definitely accept. It’s a kewl device.

Apple should have put in an audio input jack so it could be used as a Skpe phone more easily. Yeah it has a built in mic but you would look like Maxwell Smart talking into his shoe

Very good synopsis

Calling Apple on using Foxconn for final manufacturing
Is a very focused form of disparagement of a single company
who has actually tried to help change the world

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Think_Different

From an old Apple Advertisement...

I remember when it was first printed in 1997
And it sits on my desk at work, even now
To remind myself to "Think Different"

What Apple does is to "Think Different" about
How can People use Computers in Better Ways
All it's Thrust goes in This Direction
With intimate Attention to Detail

A LOT of Money is made as a Byproduct of this Effort

Manufacturing can be done by trained pigeons

Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify, or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.

They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough
to think they can change the world,
are the ones who do.

I don’t care if Apple products are made by elves in Santa’s workshop as long as they continue to be on the leading edge of customer satisfaction, look great and just work the way they are supposed to.

You were saying ...

Read my posts, skim them, and you’ll see I am generally praising the ipad.

Ummmm..., I've seen your posts on other days ... :-)

Okay, so I missed an additional diagnosis that is complimentary to OCD.... so you're also Bipolar ... LOL ... one day "on" and the next day "off" ... :-)

Some days, the world looks like this to those of the Bipolar Disorder ...

My friend’s wife is bipolar...in her 50s or so. She is so obsessed with facebook that she flips through it on her smartphone (iphone? I’m not sure) when they are driving somewhere ....at restaurants too

Nice Van Gough but for me....not applicable

Actually that painting was chalked up to schizophrenia (I did not cheat by going to goofgle)

It must be "chalked up" to bipolar, too ... click the link and see the "caption" ...

Many people involved with the arts, such as Vincent van Gogh, are believed to have suffered from bipolar disorder

I think I've got enough relatives that I've seen with OCD, Bipolar and Schizeophrenia... and fortunately they're not in the same direct family line ... :-)

OK - I cheated...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_van_Gogh

Over 150 psychiatrists have attempted to label its root,
and some 30 different diagnoses have been suggested.

Diagnoses that have been put forward include
schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, syphilis,
poisoning from swallowed paints,
temporal lobe epilepsy and acute intermittent porphyria.

Any of these could have been the culprit
and been aggravated by malnutrition, overwork, insomnia
and a fondness for alcohol, especially absinthe.

I heard some of Van Gogh’s paintings attributed to schizophrenia long before bipolar disorder got the blame. Though bipolar gets more google hits....I think it’s a more trendy and “in” affliction than schizophrenia these days

Usage of the word schizophrenia has faded somewhat

Usage of the word schizophrenia has faded somewhat

There are tremendous overlaps in the definitions of the
Major Thought Disorders such as
Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders
and Mood Disorders

in DSM IV and the
Upcoming DSM V (slated May 2013)

http://www.dsm5.org/Pages/Default.aspx

The Apple vs Windows vs Linux vs (pick your OS)
Discussion feeds into how we
interact with the digital Universe

As you see it can be taken quite personally
by the posters on this site
as well as most other sites on the net

It is part of our "Digital Identity"
And hence quite personal

"Name Calling" assails this Identity
and brings out the heavy artillery

Incidentally, a snap shot of visitors to my FreepSite
As you see, Mac Os users are overrepresented on this site
relative to the general population of Internet users
This is an interesting observation...

The Census was started prior to the
Windows 7 launch and the iPhone so
I suspect they are under "Other OS's"
