I watch the first one every Christmas. But I think they should let the series die with dignity if it isn't already too late.

Let "Indiana Jones and the Really Bad Script" serve as a warning.

Ok, then if you aren’t the writer I can give away my movie theme.

McClain shoots a gunman holding a hostage on a bridge in the opening scene.
Then, he has to turn in his badge and gun to internal affairs and sit for the next 40 minutes of the movie filling out paperwork, appearing in court (the next of kin sue.) and sitting at a desk filing cold case files until cleared to go back on the street.

Then, he answers property crime calls till the end of the movie.

Probably more of an art house take on the whole series.
