I was disappointed to see this crap published in the Japan Times.

Fujimoto and the people of Nippon would do well to read up on the honorable history of the Samurai.

I have some fond memories of Okinawa. The people there were very friendly, much more then the Koreans. When there were protest on Okinawa against the American presence the protesters used to bring mainland Japanese down by the boatload and Airload. The locals were basically passive and friendly.

“That means the marines we spot in Japan come from a world different from ours.”
Yeah, they do, so hows that whole Pearl Harbor idea looking in retrospect? Maybe you should just be happy the B-29 and the USS New Jersey went home.

Kids in Japan will go see it and think "kewlllll", and either want to become Americans themselves and join the Marines, or will consider marching down to the local Japan Self Defense Forces to sign up. I know of no shortage of younger Japanese these days who a) want to shoot a large weapon, and b) want to take out a Chinese Communist or a North Korean unfriendly with *one shot, one kill* if they had the chance. In short, under Obama, the are relying les and less on Uncle Sam. That might be good. That might be bad. It is what it is.
PS, The Japan Times is crap. I wouldnt put too much into what they write and spin.
