Yep. Sad day indeed but Ernie said this was just another adventure that God had set for him.

Buddie Demcheck died too.
Bummer.
Godspeed to a truly good man.
"Called strike threee, and he stood there, like a house, by the side of the road!"
"And there's a foul ball into the stands, and a man from Gaylord, Michigan caught that one."
"Mom, how does he know who caught that?"
Tears.
From the other thread.
Ernie’s farewell speech at Comerica park last year. An awesome speech by a man whole loved the crowd as much as we loved him.

..for those baseball fans in the Detroit area, my condolences.
The Braves announcers noted his passing during the radio broadcast. Don Sutton seemed very sad.
I felt like you when Skip Carrey passed last year.
Sorry for y’alls loss.
Because he rates two pings, that’s why, okay?
RIP.
Good memories listening to Harwell in ‘84 when I was a kid. “and Morris delivers...”
RIP Ernie.
We in the Tigers Nation are in mourning tonight.
I think also with the passing of Harwell, we also mourn an icon of back in the day when Detroit was still a great city, instead of the sad shell it has become.
Thanks for the post. R.I.P. Mr. Ernie Harwell. Thank you, sir.
too bad they pre-empted last night’s tigers game for that stupid playoff game. might have actually heard about it.
