Here is video of teen singing sensation Justin Beiber (16 years old) in an interview recently where he was asked if the name "Beiber" is "German" for basketball.
Beiber was dumbfounded by the question because he did not know what the word "German" was. The interviewer repeated the word several times and then Beiber even read it off the guy's notes. But then he said, "We don't say that in America," meaning the word "German."
I guess we know he hasn't taken "German" yet in high school.

I don’t believe for one second this kid is 16. I think he is more like 12 or 13 and Usher had him ‘aged’ because if he went out saying he was that age, 15 and 16 year old girls wouldn’t teen hearthrob on him. If he waited until he was older, he would lose his prepubescant voice within a year or so.
This is a marketed kid from start to finish. I wonder what his Behind the Music special will be like in 25 years? Wonder if he’ll confront a guy he paralized in a car wreck or something similiar.

I think it's likely that his teachers use the phrase "right wing Nazis", which I'm sure he is familiar with.(sarcasm)

Well to be fair, the interviewer did say, “choo-man”.
And I don’t know what the card said.

I believe his name has been misspelled here. it should be “Bieber”. which except for the first letter is exactly like my maiden name and that was pure austrian(german).
I mean this kid is most likely of german descent right?

I didn’t realize he’s Canadian. When in the clip he said “we don’t use that word (German) in America;” I simply assumed he knew where he was from. Evidently, the state of North Amerika’s youth is worse than I thought!

...we pronounce German balogna "bratwurst" Oh gad no. Brats are a pork sausage. Bologna is mostly beef. And a lot bigger.
Don't be jokin' around about bratwurst. It's almost a religion with me.

The German word for "basketball" is "Basketball." I've also heard Germans use "Korbball" for basketball ("Korb" means "basket" in German).

Personally, Im disappointed it took 9 posts.I would expect to see it in the title. I can't hear this kid's name w/o thinking of the stuned beeber.
