Nashville Floods (VANITY)
me

Posted on 05/03/2010 6:23:06 PM PDT by Imgr8t

I can only hope that now Gov. Bredesen has asked Obama for help, we'll get some national recognition with what's going on here in the Music City.

http://www.tennessean.com/

We are under a flood warning here in Murfreesboro, and more than likely will be travelling to Bellvue to help friends with a flooded house.

This is a big deal here... they are sandbagging the last water treatment plant to keep it safe. The only entrance is via the railroad tracks. I can totally see how Davidson Metro could be without water soon.

Again, sorry for the vanity.

No apologies, we FReepers need to know how our FRiends are doing. There is not nearly enough coverage in the media about this.

Is FEMA there? Where’s Obozo? Nothing....

Bredesen singed the paperwork on the news tonight for federal funds. Obama called him and promised help. We’ll see... but it’s bad and the MSM is ignoring it. Maybe having a dem Mayor and Gov will help us get recognition.

They evacuated the Opryland hotel last night, 1500 visitors. LP Field is underwater so is the Bridgestone Arena. Opry Mills mall is up to the roof in water.

If there are any FReepers in the Murfreesboro area that need releif, please let me know. So far, we’ve been fine, but who knows how long that will last.

Prayers for you. I have family in Hendersonville. They say they’ve never seen anything like this and they’ve been there over 30 years. Maybe this is Obama’s Katrina.

Someone I know was rescued when her neighbor came to her house by small boat. She and her six cats were upstairs, her furniture and refrigerator were “floating around” downstairs and the water level was rising. Her car had floated away to parts unknown.

They all got out of the house and into the boat from an second story window.

The flood-faring neighbor said he checked on her because she had adopted one of his cats and he wanted to see that “Smudge” was okay. (He was.)

This was in the Belleview area of Nashville.

Well, if they need help let me know. We are close, let us know what we can do. So far we’re dry and have resources.

I feel this is going to be really, really bad. Now reports are that the cumberland won’t crest until midnight.

I agree. And, while the pressure is normal and it's probably my imagination, I think it smells a bit funny. We're filtering as usual and stocking up on the bottled stuff.

It’s a mess around Nashville. At one point Saturday or Sunday, they had to rescue several Nashville Electric Service workers from the ROOF of the power substation. They sought higher ground, and ended up on the roof.

Hang in there, all. It’s a mess, but you’ll get through it.

Should this be in News/Activism?
We need to know about the flooding. Certainly aren’t being informed by the MSM. Would have thought Obama could have spoken about this calamity.
Prayers for all in the flood zone.

Anyone expecting a promotion from the U.S. Navy will have to wait for a while. Base at Millington closed and they don't know when operations will resume.
