Obama and his little friend are not just close but are at the inner extreme of the "intimate space" boundary (which "ranges out to one foot and involves a high probability of touching").

Being that close to another man is uncomfortable if not impossible for heterosexual men EXCEPT in certain cultures like Saudi Arabia where "social space" is what our culture calls "intimate space."

That said, Obama grew up (since 10 years of age) in a Western culture and the fact that his "little friend" may have come from a culture that defines "social space" differently would be irrelevant.

From all his body language, the fact that he married for political reasons (why else would he have married a Wookiee), the absence of any previous girlfriends, the MANY photos of him within "intimate range of another man" (see below)...the odds are great that he is a homosexual.

Heterosexual men just don't get that close to other men.

I agree. The pictures in isolation can be explained away but in total they do seem to paint the very caricature of a homosexual man. What then of this scandal? If true it would seem to belie the pics unless you argue he is bisexual, in which case there would presumably be past girlfriends and his marriage may not be a total sham. But where are the past girlfriends? Perhaps they were such radicals that they were asked to keep silent for fear it would hurt him politically?
