Imagine the thousands of instantaneous requests for DF Steering and handoffs! During the mid 90's controllers would always ask for practice late at night and I'd cooperate. They even would do precision approaches for you while you would simulate being blind. Unlike regular radio contact, they do not want you to answer, only to key your microphone and adjust course and speed as they instructed.
Nobody has asked me to do that since around 2001. Something tells me they are a bit rusty at it.
