Monday, April 26, 2010

An 11-year-old Toledo girl who was attacked by two Pit Bulls is honoring the good samaritan she says saved her life.

Today was the first time Sarabeth McAdams and her 18-year-old rescuer Sam Granata met since the attack. Sarabeth's mother arranged the meeting because she wanted to personally thank the man she says saved her daughter's life.

Just over a week ago, Sarabeth was riding her bike when she was attacked by two Pit Bulls. Granata was on his way home from work when he saw the attack. Today, a tearful Sarabeth expressed her gratitude to Granata.

I can’t even imagine the terror of that little girl. Poor thing will have nightmares forever.

No kidding. As a youngster a dog came up from behind me as I was walking and bit my calf. It wasn't all that bad but to this day I am still very uncomfortable with a dog walking behind me.

I use to own a red husky with amber eyes...he was awesome but stubborn and dumb...after 2 years of eating snow fence and digging fox holes in the yard, tearing carpet off the floor etc, I had to get rid of him...he was the most beautiful dog I ever saw. When a husky drops his head a little a looks up at you with those amber eyes, it can be quite intimidating...but he was a big baby...Gave him to another husky owner so she knew what she was getting...

RE: red husky......The straw that broke the camels back was when he learned how to climb a fence...I’d let him out the back door to the yard and run to the front door and tell him to get back in the house...wouldn’t have a dog that runs in the burbs..

I like to point it out because adequate fencing is essential to responsible ownership of any breed.

It falls under maintaining control of your dog.

In this particular case, with proper control there would have been no attack.

Luckily we live in a little town one way in and the same way out so traffic is lite,i let them run around for awhile go get in my truck roll down windows and listen for dog barks, locate pull up beep the horn open the truck door 5 seconds later they are drooling over the back seats...
I think i have pics of them online will send you link..

Yep. Let’s completely ignore the data regarding the number and scope of pit bull attacks. After all, it’s not like anyone was actually hurt/s.

They’re good for snoring and licking huge wet spots into your sofa.

Better to drop kick a pug....one of my son’s had to drop kick a sheltie owned by a neighbor when it came after him...just be patient and wait until its close enough...the dumb dog landed in the middle of the yard and son was at the curb....

You're proud of your son that "drop-kicked" a dog that averages 13 - 16 inches in height?

Sure am especially when that same little bitch bit the neighbor on the other side in the stomach...out in front with only a 10 year old kid watching and not on a leash..and all she was doing was walking in her front year...

Should have been dropped kicked into hell..Drew blood on my friend, didn't draw blood on my son...

If a dog comes after you, you have every right to drop kick or shoot if its a large dog....called self defense...ever hear of it...People are not chew toys....These Shelties were not 13 inch dogs. We had to put up a 6 foot wood fence so we could use our patio with the two of them yapping their disgusting butts off and charging the fence as long as we were in our yard or pool..... T T to anyone that feels bad for the stupid animal that is not under control..

Great link thanks. Looks like your husky is black but what is Havoc? Oh and how many different breeds of hummers do you have where you live...We only get Ruby throat here in Michigan and only in the summer of course...

Baby is the cutest next to my 5 kids and 13 grandkids I have ever seen, (but I am a bit prejudice)...from your point of view, she's #1 :O) of course since my son's and daughter are in their 40's or 50's, they aren't as cute anymore neither am I...:O)

You forgot to put up an ultra-sound of the new little one. GG

We think he is a mix of a Samoyed and a Siberian,Kaos is pure with papers Havoc was adopted to help cut down on the damage by Kaos inflicted on our home,it worked....
The Hummers are here all year long,i just bought a new tele lens for my camera, hope to get better pics..We usually get about 3 or 4 different kinds Ruby,Rufous,Calliope and the Broad-tailed..
I was told the Ultra Sound pics could be considered child pornography, due to how well developed my son is (takes after his dad)...........;o)

“why do people breed pugs?”

They are cute and akc registerd pups can go for $500 or more.

“what are they good for?”

They will bark and alert you to strangers in the area but mainly they are great for cuddling with the grandkids and really good travel dogs. Granted they aren’t much good for working/guarding a farm but I was planning on getting a Rotty for that this summer.
