FYI= The Mexican Constitution of 1939 does not allow Mexican citizens to leave Mexico unless they obtain permission from their own Federal consulate in Mexico D.F.-
Thus they are double illegals.

I’ve been saying this for years. The Mexican cops in Mexico who walk around with submachine guns are more than happy to let the dumb gringo tourist spend money in Mexico. Most people visit tourist areas that are leased from the local indians and are not subject to police domination because of tribal rights but the police still have authority.

Mexico also requires any Catholic priest have been born in the country. Foreign-born priests can NOT be priests in Mexico. I believe residency requires a process taking five (5) years.
