Very soft toilet paper: Becoming scarce?

WASHINGTON, - An American Chemical Society report says a growing shortage of high-quality paper for recycling is threatening the supply of soft toilet paper.

The article by Melody Voith, senior editor of the ACS journal Chemical & Engineering News, explains the decline of newspapers and magazines and the growth of electronic communications have combined to reduce the availability of good white office paper, newsprint and other traditional recyclable paper that has been used to make soft bathroom tissue.

Voith explains recycled office paper itself is containing increasing amounts of recycled paper and that, in turn, decreases its usefulness for making high-quality personal paper that is soft enough to satisfy many consumers.

She says chemists are responding to the paper crunch by searching for new coatings, resins and other additives to improve the softness, strength and performance of today's recycled paper.

Mary Ann, of course! Although Lovey was pretty hot in her HoneyBee get-up.

Photobucket

And she'd get half of Thurstons cash. (which would work well in lieu of the TP)

You’ve got all the angles covered, except one. You need to get the professor to invent TP.

The professor can do anything. He is a miracle worker. He must be in Obama's family tree!

Oddly I was just watching that episode. Mary Ann was really shaking it but I noticed something odd. She was shaking her hips to the right and back but never really to the left.

Just an odd thing I noticed.

Artist Junior Fritz Jacquet crumples and folds toilet paper rolls until they make faces displaying anguish, happiness, disgust and more. Once they’re folded right, he adds just a bit of color to help bring out their color and then they’re ready to go.

I remember they day I bought a brand of TP other than Charmin and all I got were loud protests from my 3 sons and husband.....I have only bought Charmin since

My wife and I use different toilet paper. She likes soft, fluffy Charmin and I like strong, sandpapery Scott. I can't stand Charmin! The looks we get when we go through the grocery aisle with two different brands of TP suggests we're the only ones who do this.

I heard that soft toilet paper was made from old growth trees,

You probably already know this but no old growth trees are harvested to make paper products.

Paper is made from the scraps that are unsuitable for lumber and pulp wood which is grown and harvested especially for making paper.

The manufacturers are making the rolls narrower, and the prices are going up. They still package the same number of rolls, but it’s less paper.

I bet they now toss the recyclables in the same pile as the trash.

About 5yrs back, our local trash hauler charged us for recycling using bins.
My neighbor was watching trash truck mix regular trash and recycling.
The following week he caught whole deal on film.
I live in condo community, association was refunded most of fee’s from recycling bins which also disappeared, now all trash goes in same container

New federal regulations issued by the Obama Regime require all citizens to now use one of these products for toilet paper:
