My father had a little different way of saying it.... Never point a gun at anyone unless you are fully ready to pull the trigger.

Never pull the trigger unless you fully intend to kill....

I have only a couple of guns, a new 20G and a Colt Cobra 38 special that I inherited when my dad passed away..The only thing I have killed with it is a coon. But sure hope I never have to point it at anyone, cause I fully intend to shoot for the largest body mass...it won't be a bluff...
