Not always. The trap is actually part of a humane technique that has been very successful locally - we trap, neuter, inoculate, and release. The healthier but sterile cat fills the territory without breeding. Everybody wins.

Believe it or not, it really does work. We cleared out a local condominium complex of feral cats without any of them getting shot or run over.

I’ve been doing TNR for 15 years...have 6 traps and a collapsable custom made drop trap too.
