I have maintained for a long time that you could eliminate the drug trade entirely by eliminating 50 dollar bills and making 100 dollar bills like checks, one time use, sign and print your name.

IIRC, that may have been the reasoning behind dropping the $1,000 bill from circulation.

I've yet to hear of the destination of hundreds of thousands of thousand dollar bills and larger demoninations that were printed in the late 1920's and early 1930's.

It's on the treasury dept. website, the only time they printed so many was during that 5-7 years period.
