The purpose of the term NBC is to separate out those that may have conflicting foreign loyalities from those whose loyalities flowed naturally from the citizenship of his 2 citizen parents.....loyal US citizens.....
Lafayette and his sons obviously had conflicting loyalities... Loyalities to both the US and France.....
