Not too long ago in a nearby city, I overhead a guy chew out a fast food worker for getting his order wrong. They immediately offered to replace the food, but the person with the tantrum was beside himself with anger. When he went back to his seat, the guy at the counter smiled and went about his work. The people making the food overheard it all - I wondered if they were as "understanding."

There's no reason on earth why some people go so easily into rages. I figure they must be democrats - unhappy with everything and everyone (always affixing blame) and demanding perfection in an imperfect world (no tolerance for any view except their own).

My first job as a teen was in a chain restaurant which taught me two things:

I rarely eat at restaurants and I never give a hard time to anyone that touches my food in any way, even the bus boy.

Some people have a lot of rage in their hearts and take it out on the most powerless person they can find. Unfortunately, that’s sometimes the poor guy or gal behind the counter at a fast food restaurant.

My father hated family eating at restaurants with my grandmother (his MIL), and soon refused, as she would always complain, no matter what, to get free desserts, coffees, etc (she’s a Dem). Years later, I now realize why. I love my dad, he’s so wise.
