"In Japan, millions of novels have been written on cell phones. My great-grandfather wrote his Ph.D. dissertation with a #2 pencil. Chaucer, Shakespeare and Jefferson wrote their brilliant works with bird feathers. Yet the iPad's critics say creation is impossible using a device that would have been a Pentagon supercomputer 20 years ago. The computers that today's writers say are absolutely necessary for writing didn't even exist 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Is that when they think literacy started?"

I’m a PC guy, always been, never had a Mac, I have a PSP, PS3, Xbox360 and a Wii, but I LOVE my IPhone above them all and can’t wait for my 3G IPad!

I like Swordmaker's Mac threads. In fact, I'm pinged to them.
The neat thing about FR is that if a topic doesn't interest you you don't have to read it.
Especially so when it's on chat.

Hey, watch it. I'm on the breaking edge of technology here. (remember, I live in northern Minnesota.)
Had to get something new. My iPhone equivalent just wasn't up to the task anymore.

Apple is ... :-)
They're running one of the most successful "rollouts" of a new product, the iPad, and maybe even just as big and perhaps a bigger rollout (in sales) than even the wildly successful iPhone, which was another "game-changer" that Apple always seems to be involved in, with their products...
When you run into a "game-changer" and as big a product as the iPad, that Freepers have been snapping up, along with rest of the "tech and non-tech public" -- you're gonna get a lot of articles showing up on it.

The article was saying ...
One gabber talked about how people need to write e-mails and other things, adding, "I just don't think people are going to give that up."
ROTFLMAO ...
Where do these people get these "pundits" that discuss the merits of a wildly successful new product of Apple's ... LOL ...
At least the consumers have shown that they are a lot smarter than some of these pundits ... :-)
