*** I miss the days when the History Channel actually televised shows about actual history. ***

*** Agreed. Been pretty much unwatchable the last few years. To many non-historical reality shows, too much fluff. ***

Ditto on the "History Channel". Who gives a rat's behind about Ax Men or Truckers in Canada.

But if you have Digital Cable you guys need to start watching the History International Channel. Same company but better "History" programs. Their Hitler Marathons are really good (WWII actually).

But then again, they've showed this series on "HI" for years now. It ain't nothing new and was on last month. But it is interesting, give it a few minutes.

I spent the last fifteen years outside of the US and finally returned in January...quickly signing up for cable. I came to find the History channel something less than what I’d seen in the past...and frankly...there’s barely eight hours a week of actual history on the channel.

I’d like to take the Ax-Men series and the various reality shows....and just push them off to Bravo or some other similar channel and get back to old fashioned history.

The most amusing point...came about a month ago over the weekend...where they did four hours of Loch Ness, Bigfoot, and aliens. This violated just about every rule in the book on history. I’m guessing that they are fairly desperate to have profits and lumberjacks & truckers are the only way to maintain that profit.
