The only way to stop this is to ban Chocolate Labs and Toy Poodles.

I do not think that a Boxer fits the english definition of a mastiff. The English mastiff was bred to be a watch dog but it is considered to be mild mannered.

Any dog can turn violent ... that is why human supervision is always the rule for kids around pets..

My prayers go out for this little child and her family.

You should know this poor child was not killed by a boxer. The article said it was a type of mastiff which is much larger and bred as a guard dog. A boxer is half the size of an English mastiff which ranges from 176 to 286 lbs., whereas a full grown male boxer is from 65 to 80 lbs.

A Boxer is the absolute best dog breed to have around children. In the 1960's at one point my family had 22 Boxers from multiple litters on our farm. They are the most noble dog breed and are a protector of innocents. My daughter grew up with a Boxer in our home and my wife and I have a rescued Boxer that is the sweetest young man anyone could ever meet. He is sitting on his futon behind me as I type this.

In other news, an Amish man murdered his neighbor, proving once again that the Amish are just as dangerous as the Muslims.

As the owner of a Boxer I don’t agree with classifying it as a mastiff-type. Too small and most certainly not of a watch dog mindset....well at least mine isn’t

Boxers can get big, but they don’t typically have the personality or temperment to hurt children. They are more known for being “babysitters.” With that said, dogs and children should always be well supervised. ;)
