PHOENIX -- A Valley man has some surprising visitors in his attic -- a family of bobcats.
Fred Greenshaw does not go to his attic often, but he went up there to grab an ice cream maker for his daughter's birthday. Instead, he found himself looking straight into the eyes of a bobcat.
"I heard that real low growl so I stopped what I was doing and I climbed back down," Greenshaw said.
He says he also heard something coming from behind some boxes.
"I could hear a baby crying," he said.

I agree with you completely. I told this story to my wife and she thought it was great and hoped the animals would not be harmed.
I truly hope they will not be.
PS Shotguns fire shells, not bullets. Let's hope there are no shells, bullets or arrows necessary to diffuse this situation.
Some people over-do the "I'm not a lefty nature-worshiper" thing.
Wildlife may not be Disney characters, but they're not monsters or machines either, and it is truly thrilling to live in close contact with them. And while there are some truly dangerous varmints out there, I don't think bobcats are among them.
People nowadays are afraid of coyotes--coyotes!!! Do you think anyone in the Old West was actually physically afraid of a coyote??? They'd laugh at us today!
A coyote mom will feed your infant child to her pups, and will think highly of you for placing the kid in her food chain.
Keep thinking that wild animals are just great snuggled up close to humans in our residential areas and some day you may get to read about such an incident.
I am well aware that coyotes have been known to attack and prey on young children. However, I'm speaking of adults who are actually physically afraid of coyotes. Can you imagine any cowboy of the nineteenth century losing sleep over a coyote being around?

Obviously you didn't read my post. I pointed out very clearly that wild animals are not animated Disney characters (or even non-animated Disney characters). However, the absolute fear and loathing some people have towards relatively harmless wild animals is ridiculous.
I understand your feelings about the lefty "nature worshipers." I do not understand your overcompensating by hearing left wing "nature worship" where it does not exist just because someone doesn't share your attitude.
I don't have children but I have small pets, and coyotes certainly prey on them. And you'd better believe I don't want to lose any of them.
You'd better live in great big city filled with pure, upright human beings. Out here in the country the varmints are all around. And personally, I'll take them any day of the week.

Coyotes prey on livestock, on small pets (cats and small dogs), and even small children. I never said otherwise. I said that adult human beings in our day and time have a fear of coyotes that the average adult human being in the Old West simply did not have. Were cowboys concerned about coyote predation? Yes they were. Ditto with sheep people. But coyotes are not leopards or grizzly bears, and people who make no distinction are simply ignorant.
I'm through wasting my time with you. I'm sorry the libs have done such a job on you that you can't even bear to hear of an affection for wildlife without assuming that you're dealing with someone from the Sierra Club.
So, I suppose you fight Communism by smoking too? After all, the libs are against that. That means it must be a good thing!
