That’s what I was telling my kids about the comments that the Tea Partiers are just a bunch of racists. That is, if they really believe that. (They might just be trying to whip up the emotions of others that are ignorant).
But, if they really DO think that it is about race, then they will lose. Even if they think it is all about taxes they have lost.
On another note, I was talking with my kids about respect for the president. I said that we are taught to hold the president with respect, even if we disagree with him. “However, it is hard to be respectful of someone who does not respect you, or your beliefs, and a president(!) that does not respect America and American values. We can’t be mean and nasty and use bad language, but I think with obama, he does not deserve our respect. Other than how you might give respect to a mean dog or an enemy.”

He is intent on stoking the fires of the Tea Party. Every Tea Party activist just got a new spurt of energy and enthusiasm. He can call us racists and bigots and that bounces off, but laughing at us displays the contempt he holds for the public and makes us work harder to stop him.
People are awake and telling their friends and getting them to Tea Party meetings (even in California). November will only be step one. This will continue to grow right up to November 2012.
