How about killing them in a management system to prevent overpopulation and starvation because they have no natural enemy but man - and then taking the occasion to make a trophy and generate tourism interest and revenue instead of doing it for nothing?

Sure, that sounds like a great idea. Except, if the goal was truly that, then the best "trophies" would be the sickest, mangiest bears- the ones most likely to suffer and/or starve to death due to overpopulation.
