That's an hysterical and illogical argument. The daily news about pit bull maulings, including killings of children, will continue to be published and circulated. If the frequent and true news of pit bulls killing children tends to "aggrandize the 'reputation' of these dogs" in the minds of criminals, it helps to bring those criminals down and deprive them of one of their tools.

Just like guns, *all* of them will be banned, therefore depriving responsible owners while the scum will continue to have them, regardless.
