Decades ago comedy partners Richard Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong got audiences high on laughter with their stoner-inspired stand-ups, so it's no surprise that the pot-stirring duo are particularly buzzed these days about getting the drug legalized.
"It is going to be legalized, Im going to be conservative here and say it will be legalized nationally in the next three years," Cheech assured Pop Tarts. "The writing is on the wall."
His counterpart is predicting four years for legalization to come into play across the entire USA and blames the "right wing media" and "propaganda" for making people fearful of the controversial cannabis plant.
"People are scared of legalizing it because the right-wing press demonizes anything like pot and the whole experience," Chong explained. "Pot helped me cure my prostate problems and helps people with cancer. It really is a medicine and has been for centuries, since the beginning of time. Our culture is finally now coming around to realize that."
Chong also believes that the Internet has played a prominent role in allowing people to Google and learn about the "positive" aspects of pot.

I’ve still got a “Don’t blame me, I voted for Bill and Opus” t-shirt.
Careful! When lighting up down there, inhale only!
LOL! Oh yeah.
AfGoo Kush
It’s 4:20 somewhere.......
I was going to say something, but I don’t remember what it was.
Ajax Lady has spoken!
That woman was weird.
Extreme drug addicts are weird, not excentric.
Cheech and Chong’s humor was about much more than just toking up.
Agree.
Yep, you're absolutely right. It was the PROGRESSIVES that began our nation's 1st anti-drug laws, w/ the Harrison Narcotics Act back in 1906, IIRC. Alcohol Prohibition soon followed, then the Marihuana Tax Axt of 1937, which was focused primarily against black & Hispanics in the South, 'cuz they were the main users of pot back in those days.
Cheech's short-term memory goes back only to the 1970's I guess (I wonder why? LOL), 'cuz it was the social "conservatives" of the 1970's & 80's that started & then ramped up the official War on (some) Drugs. W/ the help of the White House, Nancy Reagan & these social (a-hem) "conservatives" continued the Progressive agenda in ways that Anslinger & Woodrow Wilson could only have dreamed of.
Hey you two, check out William F. Buckley, Casper Wienberger and George Shultz. They are/were right wingers in favor of legalizing marijuana.
Yep, just where are people supposed to light up? I mean if banning a whiff of tobacco smoke on a beach in CA is priority number one for the left. I forgot barbecues, fireplaces and cigarettes cause immediate harm to everyone. But MJ smoke is “magical” and causes no harm.
Those right wingers are a bummer, man.
Am I driving OK?
I think you’re parked, man.
Yea you can always spot the pot smoker by the "picture of health" they all are
