This happened at our house last summer. At around 8:00 PM the police showed up and wanted to know who had called 911. My house was full of relatives at the time for my daughters 13 birthday, including my 7 year old nephew and niece. Seems that the boy decided to demo calling 911 on the house phone, like his mother had taught him on her cellphone, without pushing send of course.

Well, he learned the hard way that land-lines phones don't typically have SEND buttons. They don't own a land line phone, and it was news to him.

Fortunately, the officer that came to the house was an old friend of mine, and just give him, and mom, a lecture on proper use of 911. As I always say a party is not a party until the police show up.
