NEW YORK -- John Tesh confirms one of the reports in a revealing unauthorized biography of Oprah Winfrey.
The former "Entertainment Tonight" anchor-turned-new age musician says he and Winfrey used to date.
The 57-year-old Tesh says he and the 56-year-old Winfrey dated while working in local news in Nashville, Tenn.
The book "Oprah: A Biography" claims Tesh and Winfrey didn't just date, but lived together for a short period in the 1970's.
It goes on to say Tesh abruptly ended the relationship one night when he noticed their contrasting skin colors and couldn't handle being in an interracial relationship.

LOL! So he woke up one morning and realized she was black? Even for tabloid journalism, this is absurd. Plus, it speaks volumes for Tesh that he has never exploited their relationship and still speaks fondly of her.

This makes no sense. He just happened to notice, after dating someone to the point of MOVING IN WITH THEM that they are different races/colors? Just wow, how ridiculous. This makes the whole book suspect if someone would print something so stupid.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Then again, it was the 70s. It was probably after he came down from some potent stuff.

Tesh got his act together, and has been married for close to 20 years to Connie Selleca. I just saw this pop up on google, haven’t read it, but evidently Selleca commented on Tesh’s former love life.

I can't imagine anybody sleeping with Oprah and bragging about it. I would spend the rest of my life desperately trying to convince myself it didn't happen.

Authors write what they learn, hear and see. If John Tesch told Kitty Kelley this story - she could have left it out but chose not to.
Book reviewers do the work others refuse to do;).
The fine Discover series, “Life,” was nearly spoiled for me by Oprah’s narration. I couldn’t dismiss the fact that she knew nothing about what was being shown yet intoned the script so annoyingly authoritatively.
