Well I think the prosecution understands the public anger over this and that’s why they are bringing these charges. So I think the justice system is going to take care of these bullies.

But the ones that are slithering out of it is the school administrators that knew this was going on and didnt act. Those are the people who need to accept responsibility for their inactions. As Edmund Burke said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

Its too late for Phoebe and the many others that felt they had to end their lives to stop the torment they faced every day. But there are still a lot of children, teens, and young adults out there facing the same type of torment today. The biggest difference you can make is to make people aware of it. Many parents dont know their kid is a bully or being bullied. If you are a parent, talk about it with your child about how damaging words can be and how to face bullies if they ever have to deal with one. Bring the issue up in PTA meetings. If you have friends, family, or neighbors with children, make sure they are aware of the problem.

Bullies are cowards. They need to put down others in order to feel better about themselves. That’s why they stop when you stand up to them. Everyone needs to start standing up to them.
