When Tiger Woods badly missed a shot Sunday during his Career Revival Tour at The Masters, CBS microphones clearly recorded him cursing the name of "Jesus Christ."
I thought Tiger was a Buddhist?
Asked about two strings that Tiger wears near his watch, "It's Buddhist. It's for protection and strength and I certainly need that," he told the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman. He said he began wearing the Buddhist bracelet before he went into therapy treatment and said he will "absolutely" be wearing it at the Masters and forever.
In fact, Tiger attributes straying from Buddhism for losing control in his life: During an interview with "Faith & Reason" dated March 23, 2010, Tiger said, "I quit meditating, I quit being a Buddhist and my life changed upside down."
If Tiger is indeed still a Buddhist, why is he cursing the name of Jesus Christ?"
Shouldn't he have beeen cursing Buddha instead?"
So how's that "protection and strength" thing working out for you, Tiger?
I too, am tired of the Tiger coverage.
Let the Buddhist die in his sins.
He just needs to watch his filthy mouth
when he is around a camera/microphone.
Yes, I was too.
He found me and changed me.
Watch ANY Woody Allen movie.
Though raised Jewish, Woody Allen is an avowed atheist.
Yet he uses “Jesus Christ” as a curse, an expression of surprise, an expression of puzzlement, an expression of sexual frustration, an expression of hunger, an expression of despair, or whatever, in nearly every one of his movies.
It is a pseudo-intellectual conceit.
However, the name of no other deity worshiped by any other tribe or language group on earth carries as much linguistic and emotional power.
Oh Thor! Oh Osiris! Oh Ares! Oh Marx! YAWN.
“The debate has nothing to do with feelings - it has to do with the definition of sin.”
If you say so. I like to present God’s law as absolute, and the God of the Bible as the only true God. I don’t like to go along with different presuppositions. For instance, I don’t like to conjecture, what if there is a different God? Or what if God’s law isn’t in the Bible? Or so on.
I am a big fan of absolute truth.
For what it is worth, sin is any want of conformity unto, or transgression of, the law of God.
There is only one god,
and he is the sun god...
Ra! Ra! Ra!
