I friggin’ love Maurice Binder’s opening credits to all of the Bond films he worked on. This and “The Spy who Loved Me” were the absolute best. He also did the opening credits to “The Sea Wolves” as well as many other films. I believe he also created the Bond “gun barrel” introduction and took a “flat payment” over royalties for that.
Prior to his death in, I think, 1994, he did all of the title sequences except for “From Russia with Love” (THE BEST BOND FLICK EVER) and “Goldfinger”.
I kind of liked the title sequence in “Casino Royale”, but that theme song for “Quantum of Solace” made my ears bleed. Still, nothing matches what that man did to kick off a Bond film. Nobody did it better :-)!
